FUNDRAISING IDEAS

There are lots of ways you can raise the sponsorship required to participate in an event.

Organise a Dinner Party

http://www.dinner4good.com/ makes it easy for charities, hosts and guests.
You can select the charity you want to support and automatically send email invitations to your dinner guests from the site. Your guests can accept and donate online and then you can all see who’s coming and the total that’s been raised. There’s no set-up or monthly charges for charities and Dinner4Good looks after the administration of on-line donations, even taking care of the Gift Aid on behalf of the charities.

Hold an Event

A quiz evening, charging per team or per person.

A cheese and wine evening.

A treasure hunt.

An 'auction of promises'

Offer to mow a lawn, clean a car, etc

Run a fundraiser

A sweepstake on a major sporting event.

A raffle, ask local shops to donate or use unwanted presents

A cake sale at work.

A car boot sale, ask friends and family for any unwanted goods.

A dress down day at work with proceeds going towards your fundraising.

Get Sponsored

Collect sponsorship really easily by setting up a fundraising page on the virginmoneygiving.com. They charge the charity less than any other online donation website. It's a far easier and more effective way of reaching out to your sponsors, collecting the money and transferring it straight to the charity, so you don't have to visit everyone in person or collect after your event.

Sponsor yourself, then approach everyone you know by e-mail, in person, by telephone or letter.

Always get friends & family first on your sponsorship form as they tend to be the most generous and set the standard.

Ask friends and family to help you collect sponsorship, give them all sponsorship forms.

Send an article to staff newsletters with detail of how to sponsor you.

Ask all of your business clients to make a donation.

Ask all of your business suppliers to make a donation.

Always carry your sponsorship form with you, so whether you are in the pub, the gym or at work you can ask people for their support.

Find out if your employer is a member of a matched giving scheme, or if they will make a big donation.

FUNDRAISING OPTIONS

There are 2 different ways you can fund taking part:

Option 1: Raise the minimum fundraising target and your charity (either one we already work with or can approach one of your choice) will cover the cost of the event.

Option 2: Cover the full cost of the trip yourself and raise as much as you can for charity or don't raise anything at all.
